A balalayam was set and mini kumbhabhishekam was performed for the deities conscrated at the Balalayam. Daily pooja rituals was performed at the Balalayam. In the meantime, repair and renovation of the Sanctum nd entire Temple Complex was undertaken. A huge Shamiana was erected for the purpose of Yagashala and for the cultural events in adjoining ground..
Pooja rituals for Lord Vinayagar, Lord Muruga and Goddess Durga are performed in accordance with Agama Sastras. Accordingly, the rituals for Lord Vinayagar, Lord Muruga, and Goddess Durga Devi were performed by Sivacharyas from Tamil Nadu as per Agama Sasthras under the able guidance by Sivashri Allur Dr. V.Viswanatha Sivacharyar. Traditionally, the Pooja rituals for Guruvayurappan and Dharma Sastha temples, especially in Kerala are performed as per Tantra Sastras. Accordngly, the rituals for Lord Guruvayurappan and Lord Dharma Sastha were performed by Nambudris from Kerala as per Tantra Sastras.
This time again, Uttama Paksha Yagashala (33 Homa Kundams for Lord Muruga – which is the maximum as prescribed in the sastras) and one each for Lord Vinayagar, Goddess Durga Devi, Navagrahas, was set up. Similarly, the Yagashala for Lord Guruvayurappan and Lord Dharma Sastha was set up. The rituals commenced on 8th December 1991 and, the Jeernodharana Ashtabandana Swarnabandana Maha Kumbhabhishekam of Thiruchembur Murugan Temples was performed on 12th December 1991 in the benign presence of Jagadguru Sanakaracharya H.H.
